Opening of the Concept Hotel Landhaus in Burgdorf:
Burgdorf, Switzerland – 22.02.2024 – The Burgdorf Training and Work Centre (SAZ) is pleased to announce the imminent opening of the Concept Hotel Landhaus. This innovative hotel with a purely electronic access and locking system, located directly on the picturesque Herzroute, will open its doors on 1 May 2024. The start of hotel operations by the SAZ Burgdorf represents strategic progress for the institution in the further development of the hotel.
Opening up and developing the services to the outside world. On the other hand, this new opening marks a regional milestone in the development of inclusive working environments and the first such digital hotel operation for Burgdorf.
About the Concept Hotel Landhaus
The Concept Hotel Landhaus is being created from the listed Gasthaus Landhaus, combining traditional Swiss architecture with modern technology and contemporary design. With 19 beds and 12 rooms in a modern alpine style, the hotel offers its guests comfort and cosiness. Each room is equipped with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and comfortable seating areas that create an inviting atmosphere.
A showcase project for inclusion and digitalisation
SAZ Burgdorf has developed the Concept Hotel Landhaus as a central element of its vision to create inclusive workplaces. The use of advanced digital technologies enables accessibility in the workplace. At the same time, this digitalisation step means new areas of learning for all employees in the hotel business, facility management, laundry and cleaning.
Herzroute – a paradise for cycling and old town lovers
The Concept Hotel Landhaus is located directly on the Herzroute, a popular destination for cycling enthusiasts. Cycle route 99 stretches from Lausanne to Rorschach and takes you through the most breathtaking regions of picturesque Switzerland. Located directly on this route, our hotel offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a well-earned break after a tour of discovery through the idyllic landscapes of the Emmental. Our guests can relax in the surrounding nature along the Emme or in the charming old town and savour local delicacies.
Unique banqueting hall with stage
A special highlight of the hotel is the banqueting hall with stage, which is ideal for small celebrations, meetings or stand-up aperitifs. This versatile room can be hired at any time and provides the perfect setting for special occasions or business events.
Catering and services
The Intact Foundation recently announced that it will be withdrawing its catering services from the Landhaus in the summer. Nevertheless, the hotel’s guests will still be well catered for thanks to the wide range of gastronomic offerings in the surrounding area and the catering provided by SAZ Burgdorf. The hotel is therefore also ideal for business and corporate clients in the region as well as individual tourists.
Location and accessibility
We are easily accessible from Burgdorf railway station by bus routes 461 and 462. There is also a large car park directly behind the hotel.
Opening ceremony and start of bookings
The official opening ceremony will take place on 1 May 2024. Room bookings can be made online at concepthotel.ch from 18 March 2024.

Neo1: Workplaces for people with disabilities at Landhaus Burgdorf
The Burgdorf Training and Work Centre SAZ Burgdorf offers jobs at the Hotel Landhaus Burgdorf for people with recognised support needs.
At the end of February, it was announced that the institution Schulungs- und Arbeitszentrum Burgdorf SAZ was taking over the Gasthof Landhaus Burgdorf. With their ‘Concept Hotel Landhaus’ project, they want to offer more jobs for people with disabilities. ‘This means that the hotel rooms in the Landhaus will be cleaned by people with disabilities,’ says Thomas Wyss, Head of Infrastructure and Catering. Wyss explains that it is important to them to offer people with disabilities a platform so that they can gain experience.
‘Hotel rooms have been available to book since the beginning of this week. Since then, bookings and enquiries have already been made,’ says Tindara Fernandez, Head of Marketing and Communication at SAZ.
There is still a lot to do before the opening on 1 May. The schedule is very tight, says Tindara Fernandez. Nevertheless, they are positive that they will be ready in time for the opening.
